I think the Cosmic Psychos were a band that was highly influential on the Seattle so called grunge scene. I know that Kurt and Nirvana were fans, they played shows with Pearl Jam. Even thou the Cosmic Psychos never had the commercial impact or success that those bands had, they were still a major influence on them, and I think a lot of it had to do with the spirit and the sound of their music.

Compression is a necessary evil. The artists I know want to sound competitive. You don't want your track to sound quieter or wimpier by comparison. We've raised the bar and you can't really step back.

He brought in a great energy and great vibe that had been lacking from our sessions. After he came, a lot of new songs came out and we just felt inspired again.

I've seen all of the movies. I'm an old-school Bond fan. Sean Connery is our band's favorite Bond. Shirley feels a kinship with him because they're both from Scotland.

We were on tour so we couldn't make it. But we saw the movie in Tucson with a regular audience during its opening weekend. By the time we left the theater, there were like 500 kids standing outside and asking for autographs, so we had our own little mini-premiere.

I think because the first record caught people off-guard, there were certain expectations that were set up for this record and everybody kept saying it's going to be huge, it's going to be massive. And we hadn't even written a song yet,

We're pretty pleased with how it turned out. To Garbage fans, it sounds like a Garbage song. And to Bond fans, it's a Bond song.

We didn't tell the audience that this was a setup, that we were shooting a video, ... It was weird; there was this huge, like, 'Ahhh.' I heard this groan and moan, and then everybody started going 'Booooo' and yelling 'Bull-shit!' and throwing stuff up on the stage. Most people thought that she had been arrested. The song is about trying to find your own freedom as an individual and to avoid the repression that's coming down on individual rights from the right-wing, so-called Moral Majority.
